For the next time LUX MED participates in the event organized by The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) Poland in Olsztyn. The action entitled ‘Health Under control’ will take place on 9 and 10 April 2016 in Galeria Warmińska in Olsztyn. The event is fostered by the Authorities of Olsztyn City.
Free mammography tests in mobile vehicle will be dedicated to all woman aged from 40 to 75 years old. Ladies at the age 50 – 69 will have a possibility to make a test at the range of National Breast Cancer Screening Programme. These tests are free and don’t require the doctor’s referral. In a row, other Woman aged from 40 to 49 and from 70 to 75 years old could make a test financed by Norway Grants. These tests are in need of doctor’s referral – during the event there will be a doctor, who will qualify woman for a test and also give a referral.
Instead of the mobile mammography, organizers prepared a lot of health attractions and medical consultations. Olsztyn inhabitants will have a possibility to make free ECG test, oculist, dentist, spirometry, blood pressure and the glucose level measures. Despite these, there will be tests of carbon monoxide exhale level, school of the first aid, self-testing the breast. Participants will also have a chance to register to the bank of donors of bone marrow and donate the blood. For children there will be a traditional Hospital of the Teddy Bear.
